David Hockney was able to progress and grow with the times as an artist. To grow from photography and painting to digital art, he began creating art on an iPad then iPhone.

He utilized Photoshop and found the computer to be a new medium to utilize. He felt there were advantages and disadvantages, such as being able to draw faster than the computer could render the line. The advantages he found was being able to swap brushes and painting techniques quickly digitally for the effect of those mediums together.
