Joy of Painting

Ross' PBS series ran for more than a decade. He created more than 400 episodes. Each episode ran approximately 25 minutes. Ross completed an entire painting in one episode.

Everything was happy to Ross in his series. From no mistakes but "Happy accidents" to creating "happy little trees".

He painted landscapes on his series. Each episode was a new mountain range, seascape, or forest scene. His medium of paint was oil.

He and his manager brainstormed the entire series. They began by traveling around in his motorhome and teaching seminars. To hit it big they filmed commercials and launched the tv series.

He died at the age of 52 of lymphoma.
