Biography

Parviz Tanavoli has created art in Iran and Canada since 1989. He has had several exhibitions throughout Canada, the last show being in 2019. Tanavoli showed in several galleries during his life and career throughout Austria, Italy, Germany and the United States.

Tanavoli was also a sculpture professor at a university in Iran for 18 years until he retired. He is also considered one of the greatest Iranian artists.

Parviz Tanavoli is inspired by his culture and countries history in his work. Locksmith work has been a fascination of his as well and you can see remnets of that in his sculptures. Many of his sculptures are variations of abstract representation of the word "heech" meaning "nothing" in Persian.
