Supper of Emmaus

This piece is special because Jesus is made to be an ordinary man. Jesus is central in the painting. Also different in this piece are the looks of the disciples as startled and shocked.

Caravaggio used the technique of chiaroscuro, the study of light and shade. This technique was used in this painting and can be seen in the fruit and bread painted carefully like a still life.
