Influenced by Andrea Mantegna

Andrea Mantegna influenced much of Bellini's work. He was his brother-in-law. Bellini's painting to the right, Crucifixion, shows many similarities to Mantegna. Both artists created paintings of the crucifixion. Bellini used the same technique in the raised mound where the cross stands. Even the method of the folds and wrinkles of the clothes are very similar.

He does not continue the similarities long before he begins to find his own way.
