Harmony is something that is pleasing to the eye. It engages the viewer and it creates an inner sense of order, a balance in the visual experience. When something is not harmonious, it's either boring or chaotic. Color harmony delivers visual interest and a sense of order.

Monochromatic Color Scheme:

Lights and darks of 1 color. Using tints and shades of 1 color to create an image.

Analogous Color Scheme:

Any 3 colors side by side on the color wheel. Usually one of the three colors predominates.

Complementary Color Scheme:

Any 2 colors directly across from each other on the color wheel.
